Question 1

Why is 3PM moving to a new ecosystem?

Accepted Answer

Because construction is not one job, and one application was never going to fit all of it. A sole trader quoting from the ute, a project manager running fifteen jobs, and a supplier pricing a materials list need different tools, but they need to be looking at the same project.

The ecosystem is built that way. Each app is designed for one role, and they all share the same foundation, so the work moves between them instead of being re-entered at every handover.

AI has also taken over the industry and its important that your business start to adopt AI. OUr new ecosystem will allow you to start migrating to AI Tasks to reduce your administration costs.

Question 2

What is the ecosystem, in plain terms?

A set of apps, each built for a specific role in construction, that all connect through a shared Workspace. You pick the app that matches what you do. When you work with someone using a different app, you are both looking at the same project, not two copies of it.

So a quote raised on site, approved by a client, and invoiced against a schedule is one thread of work, not three systems and a paper trail.

What was the problem with the current application?

It asked everyone to work the same way. As more of the industry came on board, that meant a screen full of features most people never used, and gaps for the ones they did.

It also stopped at the edge of your business. Anything involving a client, a subcontractor, or a supplier dropped back to email and spreadsheets, which is exactly where the detail goes missing and the disputes start.

What do I get that I do not have today?

Accepted Answer

The main one is that the people you work with are in it too. Clients approve quotes and variations in the same place they can see progress. Subcontractors and suppliers connect to the job rather than sitting outside it.

On top of that you get Buddy AI across the whole ecosystem, apps for parts of the job that were never covered before (procurement, planning and consents, materials reuse, escrow payments), and a system that keeps working as your business grows instead of one you outgrow.

Question 5

What happens to the current application?

It keeps running while you move across, so nobody is cut off mid-job. It will not get new features, and it will be retired prior to 2030.

We will give you clear notice well before any shutdown date, and we will not switch it off underneath you.

Question 6

Do I have to move?

Accepted Answer

Yes, eventually. New work is going into the ecosystem, so staying put means missing everything that follows, and the current application will not be maintained indefinitely.

You do not have to move today. We are offering free upgrade and implementation ove the next 6 months.  Talk to us about the timing that suits your season and your jobs, and we will plan around it.

Question 7

Which app should I be on?

Accepted Answer

Most uses will be using Command Or Base, Move (for asset and service management) and Contractor (For the field app) .  We will guide you on the migration path based on what you are current using.

Question 8

Will it look and work the same?

Accepted Answer

Most of the workflows you currently do will remain the same but you will be able add new workflows and change existing ones as you learn the system.

Your custom Forms remain in both systems exactly the same.

Question 9

Can I use more than one app?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and most businesses will. The apps are designed to sit side by side and integrated completely: your office might be on the Business App while your team on site uses the Contractor App, and you might add the Procurement App when you are pricing materials.

They share the same Workspace, so nothing has to be entered twice.

What is a Workspace?

Accepted Answer

A Workspace is the shared space your projects, people, documents, and history live in. It is the thing that makes the apps connected rather than separate.

When someone joins a project, they join your Workspace at the level of access you give them. That is why a subcontractor can see the job they are on without seeing your margins, and why your project manager sees the same information as the person on site.

Question 11

What is Buddy AI, and do I have to use it?

Buddy AI is an AI application that you can use to do all the things you will need. You will be able to add new AI Skills to buddy and assign those skills to roles so different people in the orgnisation can use Buddy in differnt ways.

Buddy AI will be the largest difference in the application and will require some training. Initially you will not have to use any AI at all.  It is there when you want it and out of the way when you do not. Nothing depends on using it.

Does it work on site, without good coverage?

The apps used on site are built for site conditions, so you can keep working through patchy coverage and things sync when you are back in range.  The app is not avaiabel offline and can sync information later if signal is not available.

This removes a large limitation of the current system.

Question 13

Is there still a mobile app?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The apps built for on-site work are mobile apps, on both iOS and Android. The apps built for running a business from an office are web based, so they work in a browser on any machine.

The product page for each app says which it is.

Question 14

Will my data come across?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your projects, clients, quotes, invoices, documents, and history migrate across. You should not need to re-enter or re-upload anything.  Custom Forms and workflows we will avaiable in the new tool when you start so you wont ahve to rebuild these.

We run the migration for you and check it with you before you switch over.

Question 15

Is there anything that does not come across?

A few things do not map one to one, usually where the old application had a single feature that the ecosystem now handles differently, or where a custom field has no equivalent.

We will go through anything in that category with you before the move, and agree where it should land, rather than dropping it quietly.

We will work through these during the migration step.

Question 16

How long does the migration take?

Accepted Answer

For most businesses the data move itself is done inside a few hours.   Once we have checked a few times, we shoudl be able to just continue running on the new system.

Can I keep working while it happens?

Accepted Answer

Yes, right up to the switch. We schedule the changeover when we have trained and checked all workflows and feautres you currently rely on are avaiable.

You technically could run things side by side and move workflow over to the new apps.

Question 18

What happens to my historical jobs and reporting?

Accepted Answer

Your history comes with you, so completed jobs, past invoices, and the records behind them stay searchable. That matters for warranty claims, disputes, and anything an auditor or a client asks for later.

Reports are built differently in the ecosystem and are much more configurable so a report you rely on may look different even though the underlying data is the same.   The new AI reporting tools will remvoe a limitation in the system.

Question 19

Is my data safe during the move?

Accepted Answer

Your data is copied, not moved. Nothing is deleted from the current application as part of the migration, so the original stays intact while you check the new one.

The transfer is encrypted, and access to it is limited to the people running your migration.

Question 20

Can I take a copy of my own data first?

Accepted Answer

Once we migrate the data you will be able to export it all in the new system. The old data will remain for at least 1 year after you switch over and you will have continued access to it but we dont think you will need it.

Question 21

What if something is wrong or missing after the move?

Accepted Answer

Tell us and we will fix it. The original data is still there, so anything that did not land correctly can be brought across again.  We will be working trhough this with you to check everything is correct.

There is a checking period after the migration where this is exactly what we expect you to be doing, and we stay close to your account through it.

Question 22

Does my Xero connection carry over?

Accepted Answer

The ecosystem connects to Xero, so your accounting stays joined up. You will need to authorise the connection once from the new app, because the permission is granted to the application and does not transfer by itself.

It takes a couple of minutes and we can walk you through it.

Question 23

What about my other integrations?

These will just need to reauthorise to the new app during migration implementation.

Will it cost me more?

Accepted Answer

Pricing in the ecosystem is per app and per user, so what you pay depends on which apps your business uses rather than one flat licence.

Before you commit to anything, we will show you what your current setup costs and what the equivalent costs in the ecosystem, so you are comparing real numbers for your business rather than a price list.

Question 25

What happens to my current subscription?

You will not be billed twice. Your current subscription stops when and if you move across, and anything already paid for is credited or refunded.

Is there a charge for the migration itself?

Accepted Answer

No. Moving your data across is part of the move, not a service you buy.

Question 27

Am I signing up to a longer contract?

Accepted Answer

Moving across does not lock you into a longer term than you are on now.

Question 28

Do my staff need new logins?

Accepted Answer

Your people come across with your account, so you are not rebuilding your team list. Each person will be able to sign in to the new app striaght away as long as they use the same email address.

Will my team need training?

Accepted Answer

Most people pick it up by using it, particularly on site, where the app does less and does it more directly.

We provide some simple onboarding for the parts that are genuinely new, and we can run a session for your team if you would rather do it together.

Question 30

Do my clients and subcontractors have to do anything?

Accepted Answer

Nothing during the move. Work in progress stays where it is and keeps running.

Afterwards, the ones you invite in get more than they had: clients can see progress and approve variations directly, and subcontractors can be attached to a job rather than managed over email. That is an invitation, not a requirement, and you decide who gets one.

Who can see what?

Accepted Answer

You control that, per person and per project. Someone invited to one job sees that job, and only the parts of it you have given them.

Commercial detail such as your margins and your supplier pricing is not visible to clients or subcontractors unless you deliberately share it.

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Get in touch and we will look at how you use the current application, work out which apps fit, and plan the move around your jobs.

You will get a written plan before anything happens: what moves, when it happens, how long the changeover window is, and what it will cost.

When is the best time to move?

Accepted Answer

At any time.   Right now, we have your data in and we can click a button and update the data at any time.

Question 34

Can I try it before I commit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We would rather you saw it with your own projects in front of you than decided from a demo.  You dont need to commit to anythgin right now.

Question 35

What support do I get through the move?

Accepted Answer

Someone who knows your account and stays with it through the migration. They plan it with you, run it, and are there for the period afterwards while you check everything landed.

Question 36

What if it does not work out?

Accepted Answer

Your data in the current application is not deleted when you migrate, so going back is possible for at least 12 motnhs after the move.

If something is not working, the first thing to do is tell us, because most of what people hit early on is a setting or a habit rather than a limitation.
